12 August 2020
Inauguration of the restored ancient cistern of the port of Tricase
Overview

An evening dedicated to culture to celebrate the end of the restoration works on the ancient cistern of the Port of Tricase old dock and to share the results achieved so far by the Co.Co.Tour project.

The historic cistern, built in the early 1900s and used as a reserve of fresh and drinking water by the users of the port until the end of the First World War, and until the construction of the Apulian aqueduct, will be a new access point to the dock of Tricase Port Museum, also for people with "special needs".

The restoration of the structure, co-financed by the Co.Co.Tour project - represents a new milestone in the way of valorisation of the coastal territory, closely integrated with the community and the local economic system and is supported by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre –Accession Assistance (IPA III), Interreg IPA Cross Border Cooperation Italy – Albania – Montenegro.
